Michael Strober, PhD

Biography

Michael Strober, PhD, a clinical psychologist and professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, is the director of the eating disorders program and the adolescent mood disorders program at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute and Hospital. Strober’s primary research activities center on the long-term course and outcome, psychopathology, and genetics of eating disorders. He has authored more than 125 scientific papers and has served on numerous national advisory boards. He is the author of Just a Little Too Thin: How to Pull Your Child Back from the Brink of an Eating Disorder. In addition, Strober is editor-in-chief of The International Journal of Eating Disorders. He received his PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1975.
